Once in a while someone will ask me, "What is
your style?"
Well, it depends on what season I am in
within my life.
The best I can do is ask another question.
"What are you looking for?"
It depends.
I wish I could say that my paintings are
accomplished with a lofty goal or
overall theme, a pre-determined
destination in mind. But it's the
mystery I'm after, not the solution. I
have been influenced many times over
with my background in Architecture and
my extensive travel living overseas and
my Christian faith.
My process involves putting down multiple
layers of paint, pausing after each
layer to strategize over the next color
mix and brushstroke. I like the fluidity
of paint and find I am drawn to creating
movement in my work. I want to capture
the viewer to begin a journey that helps
him escape. I fall into a purposeful
path of discovery: switchbacks, places
of rest, milestones and the ultimate
visual ending. The fun occurs in
unearthing it all, or parts of it all,
in a way that surprises me. The rest is
history and the end result is wherever
you end up.
Digging for clues, knee-deep in paint, I
think of the scripture:
“For where your treasure is, your heart will
be also.”

Hello my name is Debra
Goley and thank you for visiting my
website and taking time to look at my
work.
I am truly blessed to be
able to do what I love - paint and to
share my creativity with Homeowners, new
moms, proud parents, sports fans, art
enthusiasts, decorators and anyone else
who loves and appreciates artwork.
Let me tell you a little
bit about myself. I currently live in
Goodyear, AZ and have two kids and a
loving, supportive husband. I
moved here from Houtson TX, and before
that Washington DC., I have built
relationships with many nationally and
internationally known artists and master
faux finishers, I have gained insight to
new and innovative techniques as well as
top-of-the-line products.
I have been painting for
over 28 years and I thoroughly enjoy
what I do. I make every effort to keep
myself up-to-date with techniques and
skills of unique faux finishes and
trompe l'oeil (trick the eye) murals.
Many thanks to everyone
who have allowed me to create beautiful
artwork in their home. I hope you enjoy
it for many years and for those
interested in my artwork, please let me
know if you have any questions and sit
back, relax and let the creativity flow! |
